Dental Sedation
We Can Help Ease Dental Anxiety
Dental sedation can be a useful tool for a number of different situations at the dentist's office.
If the thought of coming in for your dental appointment has you feeling anxious, dental sedation may help manage these feelings. We want you to feel as calm and relaxed as possible when visiting us, and so in addition to sedation, we will work at your pace, take breaks when needed, and provide calm reassurance as required.
If you are undergoing a long or complex dental procedure, dental sedation may help make the process more comfortable and seem to pass more quickly.
Whether you're visiting us for a routine checkup or a longer, complex oral surgery procedure, our dentists will take the time to discuss any concerns you may have and help you decide if dental sedation is right for you.
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
Inhaled through the nose during dental procedures, nitrous oxide can help calm you while allowing you to remain alert enough to communicate. It also increases pain tolerance, reduces gag reflexes, and can make time seem to pass quickly.
Oral Sedation
Your dentist can prescribe oral sedatives, in pill or liquid form, for you to take before a dental appointment. While oral sedation will keep you awake for the procedure, it produces a calming effect to help you significantly relax.
