Restorative Dental Services
A Happier, Healthier Smile
Dental issues such as missing or damaged teeth might have you hiding your smile or experiencing pain and discomfort. Left untreated, these issues can significantly affect your oral health and overall well-being.
Your dentist can recommend and provide restorative dental treatments to restore the function and appearance of your teeth. Depending on your specific oral health problem, these services can be used to repair damaged teeth, replace missing teeth, fortify the structure of a tooth that may otherwise need to be extracted, and stop the spread of infection.
Don't let dental problems hold you back from enjoying life. Book a consultation at our dental office in Saskatoon today. We can help you feel confident in your smile, and your oral health.
Dental Crowns
Crowns are hollow, artificial teeth that are placed over damaged, misshapen, or decayed teeth to restore their original shape and colour. These dental restorations can also reinforce the structure of a tooth, protect it from further damage, or hold a dental bridge in place. Additionally, they can cover a dental implant, or a tooth that's been treated with a root canal.
Also referred to as "caps", crowns are made from one or a combination of materials, including gold, zirconia, porcelain, and metal.
Dental Bridges
A custom-made bridge is a permanent restoration that replaces missing teeth. It extends across an area with no teeth to restore the bite between upper and lower jaw.
The most common type of dental bridge is made of dental crowns on both ends, with artificial teeth in between. Your dentist will fit the crowns over your natural teeth or dental implants on either side of the space, and then secure the bridge.
Dental Fillings
Composite or dental amalgam fillings can be used to repair cavities or other types of tooth damage, including cracks. While tooth-coloured composite fillings blend with the shade of your front teeth, silver-coloured amalgam fillings are made of metals such as mercury, copper, silver, and tin. They are used on back teeth.
Both types of fillings can tolerate moderate pressure from chewing and fix cavities that may otherwise progress and cause pain, discomfort, or further dental issues.
Full & Partial Dentures
Dentures are artificial teeth that can replace either one missing tooth, a series of adjacent ones (partial dentures), or a full set of missing teeth in a jaw (full dentures). If you are considering replacing missing teeth, dentures can help preserve your facial structure, maintain your ability to speak and eat, and prevent remaining teeth from shifting out of place.
Having dentures placed is an important step in restoring the health and appearance of your smile. Your dentist can help you choose the right type of dentures for you.
Root Canals
Your dentist performs a root canal procedure to remove infected tissues, nerves, and blood vessels from the interior of a tooth. By doing so, your dentist can stop infection from spreading and prevent the need for a tooth extraction.
